This is my first blog on the RIS website. Welcome to those of you reading this.

We are now into Week 2 with our final class groups for the year in music, and students are enjoying experimenting with and learning new skills on instruments and singing. The song they are all working on is 'Three Little Birds' and most classes have completed task stations which involve learning to play simple notes/rhythms on keyboard, guitar, ukulele, drumkit, and singing the song. The next step is to combine these instruments and singing in their groups to practise and present their version of the song to the rest of the class. Photos are taken for student learning journals and each group is videoed for viewing and reflection.

Students describe this learning experience as 'fun' and love to show off their skills as they learn them. The music programme is a great opportunity for all students to learn basic instrumental and vocal skills and to share these with others in the class.

Below is a selection of photos taken this week of students in T4 working on their task stations.
